Witches Hat gets its name from a large conical rock at the drop point and is part of a very large area of reef 2km off shore. This dive site is home to many cleaning stations in 12-15m of water, making it an excellent place to spot multiple mantas year round. As well as the chance to spot the usual suspects of Zavora like the various ray species, reef sharks, amazing macro with an abundance of nudibranchs, manti shrimp, reef fish and the like. This site is also able to surprise us with the unexpected from passing game fish to a massive brindle bass, a school of devil rays or a small eyed stingray, the biggest stingray in the world! We have often been taken aback to find our off shore species coming in to the shallows.
The reef here is covered with pink sponges and if you have a keen eye it is possible to find frogfish brilliantly camouflaged amongst them.
